The Day My Dog Joined a Zoom Call

Last month, I was working from home, attending this super important Zoom meeting with my boss and a few high-profile clients. You know, the kind where you have to look serious, nod thoughtfully, and pretend you didn’t just eat cereal for lunch.

Everything was going smoothly until… My dog, Biscuit, decided he had thoughts to share.

Without warning, Biscuit jumped on my lap, slapped his paw on my keyboard, and somehow UNMUTED me. Then, for reasons I still don’t understand, he barked. But it wasn’t just a bark—it was a howl, like he was summoning the ancient wolves or auditioning for an opera.

The entire meeting froze.
My boss blinked.
One client tilted their head like they were a dog.
And then… It happened.

Zoom auto-captions kicked in, and it translated Biscuit’s bark as:
🗨️ “I respectfully disagree.”

At that point, I couldn’t tell if I should apologize or promote him.
But it got better—or worse, depending on how you look at it.

Biscuit Takes Over

After his dramatic howl, Biscuit decided it was time to fully take control. He stood on the keyboard like a furry dictator and managed to switch on a filter I didn’t even know existed. Suddenly, I had a pair of cartoon sunglasses on my face and—wait for it—flashing dollar signs in the background. I looked like a cross between a rapper and a lottery winner.

The clients lost it.
One of them said, “Well, I wasn’t going to approve the budget… but now I’m convinced.”

Meanwhile, Biscuit—clearly feeling himself—settled into my chair, staring straight at the webcam like he owned the company. His tail wagged just enough to keep hitting the spacebar, muting and unmuting us like a DJ scratching a record.

The Chat Goes Wild

Then the chat box blew up:

  • “Can we hire Biscuit as our negotiator?”
  • “Best meeting EVER!”
  • “Is Biscuit available for consulting work?”

My boss (who NEVER jokes) actually typed:
➡️ “Biscuit just earned Employee of the Month.”

Aftermath: The Legend of Biscuit

The meeting wrapped up with high fives (virtual, of course) and about ten screenshots of Biscuit in his moment of glory. Later that day, HR emailed me asking for a headshot… of Biscuit. By the end of the week, the company newsletter featured him on the front page with the headline:
➡️ “How One Dog Improved Company Morale in 10 Minutes.”

Now, every time I join a call, people ask, “Is Biscuit coming?”
And if he does, well, we all know it’s going to be a productive day.

😄 Moral of the Story:
Sometimes the best team player isn’t the one with the MBA—it’s the one with the wet nose and the wagging tail. Like your DOG! 🐶
